Your Authentic Self

 

Anytime we shift into a new season, we have a natural inclination to turn our attention and thoughts inward. We want to change something about ourselves, clean house figuratively and literally, we feel moved to set new goals.

 

Right now is the perfect time to take inventory of our lives as they are. What is missing? What can you do without? What will you add to enhance and enrich your life?

 

I would like to share an exercise that is very quick and incredibly useful at this, or any time of year. Once you have a moment to yourself, take a deep breath through your nose, and then exhale slowly through your mouth. After three repetitions, you should start to feel all the thoughts and energies that pull on your attention and drain your spirit start to fall away, leaving space for the subtle energy of your authentic, higher self to be felt or heard.

 

Spend a moment with who you truly are- even if it is just a moment. Tune out the mental chatter from the front of your brain where the conscious mind resides. Imagine moving your attention to the back of your brain and then tune in. Listen for any messages or guidance from your higher self. Ask a question that has been troubling you and ask for an answer. If it is possible to repeat this exercise just once or twice a day, it can quickly become a habit that feeds your spirit.

 

The absolute best guidance you can receive is that which comes from your higher self- your true Authentic Self. This invaluable resource is accessible whenever you crave guidance, direction, or just the subtle energy frequency of stillness. All you need to do is take a moment to quiet your mind and tune in.
